Modifying an existing building can present many challenges for the TDI design team. The team met those challenges when we modified a 90,000 sf, 155-room Aloft Hotel. The six-story hotel kept the structural steel on the lowest level and the upper 5 levels were upgraded with load bearing light-gauge framing. Light-gauge flooring and roof joists were also used in the renovations.
